Shannon Hockensmith began her dance training at the Wadsworth School of Ballet (the predecessor of Northeast Ohio Dance Academy) at age 3. She joined Northeast Ohio Dance Ensemble at age 12 and performed with the company until graduating high school. Ms. Hockensmith moved to New York City to pursue a degree in Photography at The School of Visual Arts. She continued taking dance classes at a number of well known New York studios. Now relocated back in Ohio, Shannon teaches Modern III and IV at Northeast Ohio Dance Academy as well as Creative Movement, Kinderdance I and II and Introduction to ballet. She is also on the faculty of the Manchester School of Classical Ballet in Akron, OH.
