
Mrs. Magons is a graduate of Point Park College (now Point Park University) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in dance performance with a concentration in ballet. She began her ballet training at the age of ten at Martell School of Dance in Akron, Ohio and received a merit scholarship to further her dance studies to include jazz and tap. Desiring more performance experience, she auditioned for the Canton Ballet in Canton, Ohio and danced there as a principal company member throughout high school. During the second half of her senior year, Mrs. Magons was granted early acceptance to Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio as a dance and theatre major. While there, she performed with the Otterbein Dance Company and performed the roles of Val and Lois in A Chorus Line with the Otterbein Theatre, serving as the production’s dance captain as well. She then transferred to Point Park College where she performed with the Playhouse Dance Theatre and completed her undergraduate studies at the Conservatory of Performing Arts. Mrs. Magons has also studied with the Richmond (VA) Ballet, the Princeton (NJ) Ballet and the Milwaukee (WI) Ballet.
Mrs. Magons has over a decade of experience teaching dance and dance fitness to all ages. She has taught ballet to early elementary through advanced students at Wayne Center for the Arts in Wooster, Ohio where she was also honored to participate as an instructor for PROJECT PARTNERSHIP, a grant made available from the Very Special Arts, Kennedy Center, designed to develop and enhance the self-determination and self-advocacy skills of young people with disabilities through increased participation in the arts. She has also studied and taught ballet at the Contemporary Dance Theater and taught dance fitness in Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition, Mrs. Magons has danced in television specials and commercials and has staged and choreographed youth and children’s musicals for churches in Cincinnati and Fairlawn, Ohio.
